Course Overview
Security Reporting, Communication, and Terminology defines the process of collecting, verifying, structuring, analysing, and communicating operational information that supports decision-making within SMART.
All outputs are produced using standardized formats, controlled terminology, and verified information, ensuring clarity, consistency, and traceability. Reporting outputs include incident reports, SitReps, briefings, and investigative reports that define impact, implications, and required actions.
All inputs and outputs are recorded in a Reporting Evidence Log, linking sources, timestamps, verification steps, and analytical judgement, ensuring auditability and traceability into Threat Profiles (L1), Operational Risk Scenarios (L2), Operational Security Planning (OSP), and Security & Crisis Management (SSCM).
Communication must remain effective under degraded conditions, including incomplete information, conflicting inputs, and disrupted systems. All outputs must support decision-making under time pressure and uncertainty.
Managing disagreements is executed through structured, evidence-based reasoning, validity checks, and SMART-aligned logic, ensuring consistency, accountability, and defensible decisions.
